The switch to dual monitors...

Hi Guys,

I recently made the switch to dual monitors, which has been great. It's seriously like going from having one arm to having two... but, when I had one monitor, I got into the habit of closing windows in the right-hand corner of the screen by just "throwing" my mouse pointer quickly to the top corner of the screen and clicking to close the window. Now when I do that, the mouse pointer jumps to the other monitor, and doesn't end up anywhere near the 'x'.

My question is: Is there any software out there that will prevent the mouse from switching over to the other monitor when the pointer is in the corner of the screen? Like, only allowing the pointer to cross over when it's not 50px from any monitor corners, or something like that.

I have UltraMon and have searched Google, but haven't had any luck... maybe I'm the only one that does this

Only solution i can see is if you lower the resolution of the next 2nd monitor. If you do that i know it wont let you move the mouse to that 2nd monitor from the bottom right, never tried the top right. But then it gets annoying having 2 diff resolutions

What if you move all your desktop icons to 2nd monitor and adust th position of icons in such a way that they are onthe left side of 2nd monitor and then move you starting toolbar to the far right side of the 2nd monitor. the only problem is that if your second monitor goes blank for some reason (crashing) then you have no way of seeing your start menue. Then you have to unhook the 2nd m and start all over again
I have never tried this but I know you can move your icons and start menu to right monitor. I myself use 2 monitors for AutoCAD and open my aerial view and my bottons on the second m. doing this gives me more drawing area on my left monitor.

Stagger your primary and secondary displays in display properties by pulling your secondary display down a touch.

That way when you "throw your mouse pointer quickly to the top corner of the screen" it will not be able to go to the adjacent display.
