Dang how many people are gonna start threads like this, it is starting to look like AMD/Intel.

One review does not prove anything about the Glaciator, don't get me wrong it could very well be the best cooler especially for the money, but we can't all say this based on one review. This is the third thread on this subject. We need more reviews before we can make a good opinion of it. I am about ready to buy it just to let everybody know what it really does.

He actually did not say the FOP32 is better. Perhaps the FOP32 gets him to the speed he needs and he doesn't need to go any higher...or maybe he's already spent too much money on hardware this year(like me).

He started the same thread on "cpus and overclocking", apparently didn't get the response he was looking for there and so decided to try again here.

xcourse WTF are you trying to say.

First I've posted over there by mistake. As you know we can't delete our threads. So instead of making a useless post with a .(dot) I leave it unedited and posted again here.
My initial ideea wasn't to start a flame war.I see you are trying too...

Grow up ppl

760gms is way over the 300gm max weight. I hope the socket stays attached to the board.

Do you wanna stick with your VolcanoII?LOL
I have the same POS heatsink on my 1.33 t-bird.My CPU is very good quality.Right now I'm running it at 1.575V @ 1.33T-bird.You know what that means.Means I can achive arround 1.520 GHZ easy without mod. my mobo. But I don't even dare trying to up the FSB.Why ?Because already my temp is 45 C idle or 49C heavy load(keep in mind this temp at 1.575 V).So if you want to oc your CPU better think to buy a serious heatsink.

Dill how can this be a good temp when my CPU runs 19C hoter then my mobo?
Are you kidding?
I'm talking about 1.575 V here

just an observation guys, but does everyone realize that once the palomino comes out, cooling is not going to be that big of an issue anymore? Even to the most extreme overclockers ;)

Conscript,

Except that athlon4(palomino)'s at 1.5ghz are still 55+ W, so we're back where we are right now, at 50+ watts. Faster palomino's are simply going to use even more power than current chips.

yeah, but doesn't the voltage play a part in the heat ouput as well? I mean, the difference between me running my t-bird at 1.75 volts, as opposed to 1.85 is huge when is come to heat. If the palomino is supposed to run on 1.4, then... And where did you get those specs on the A4 anyway?

As i was comparing watts at each test it seems that the millenium glaciator is cooling better than swiftech 462.I seen where swiftech on a 78 watt system was reaching 41c and at 71 watt 35c.At overclockers.com they show a 83watt system at 39c with a cpu temp even lower.
Also the price is cut in a half, and no more deaf AMD users

i prefer the motherboard mounting the swiftech uses over using the clips to mount the hsf. but at $40 less, this is certainly another option. i'd just wait for more reviews and comparisons.

Conscript,

JC-news and some other websites published it a fwe weeks ago... AMD has claimed a 20% power drop, and that would put the athlon4 right where it should be in terms of power drop. Yes, wattage plays a huge role, and that is where most of the drop is coming from.

But the most important things are still very much the same as on t-birds. 50+W, as well as a 50+W per square CM of cpu contact surface. Which means cooling will remain critical for palomino core chips.

Ye gosh that's a heavy hunk of metal, though with a good price. I'm still waiting for some other reputable reviews though before passing judgement.

120mm is probably overkill- i finally got my 92mm adapter with a Panaflo 44cfm fan sucking air from my Taisol. Not too bad- but it kinda jacks my case airflow.
