I'll be flipping through the channels, and I come to the channel they will be usually broadcasting a breakthrough telethon.
For those who are not familier with this station, it is a christian station that is trying to fund a skyscraper in Orlando. They have a painting of it up on the wall in the studio. It's a massive structure, with a curved glass roof at the top.

It seems to me that they would rather keep taking peoples money for this 'building', but sometime down the road, something 'happens' to where they can't build it. They don't seem to spare much expence on the set. Everyone is dressed very well, and the operators have LCD screens.

Just a bit ago the guy on there was saying that if you donate $2,000 then something bad in your life will be fixed, basically.

Then he was saying how that if you can't afford $2,000, then you can put it on your bank card, and make payments on it, because if you do this, God will help you pay for it; he will give you the money to do fund the superchannel.

Now I know that there could be a lot of legitimate stuff going on in the background, but on the surface it seems rather sleazy. :(

Anyone out there know more about this station, and its true intentions?

Never heard about that channel.

But, what do you think? Do you think that's true? If there was a God, do you think you could reconsile yourself to It with money?

My feelings about their intentions are only based on the limited stuff I have seen or heard about them.

At times I hear of them talking as if they receive direct messages from God. If they are using religion and guilt to collect funds for their personal ambitions, then I would have to say that's horrible, and it really bothers me. But, if they really do believe in their cause then it's not so horrible. It's probably a little of both, but to what extent either way is what I'm curious about.
This is what they say of the purpose of the building is:

<< This building will be a sign and a wonder. A SIGN to the more than one million motorists passing by it every week on Interstate 4 that God's people can be the "head-not the tail, the lender not the borrower, above and not beneath." A WONDER that a 40 million dollar building could be built debt-free by simple faith in God's word and favor from generous people.

This building will serve the present and future needs of this television station and endow Christian television on WACX-TV through the funds generated from the leasing of office space in the tower. Your gift will keep giving every month as long as this building stands.

I don't buy into the 'giving us money will pardon your sins' deal.
