fucking awesome. it's incredible when you think about exactly how massive the sun is and how huge these disturbances are relative to the earth.

If you read the description on the top about not having sun-spots for a long period of time, the last couple times that happened we had a sudden cooling on earth. One of those times was the Little Ice Age. I better get my winter weight going.

All of them are amazing, but I liked the one showing the comet losing its tail the most. Incredible.

And with one well placed giant burp from the sun in our direction, all life on earth would be wiped out. That is one doomsday scenario that is rarely mentioned. Just ask Mercury or Venus what that burp felt like. A big solar burp might have even blown away most of Mars atmosphere at one time. Solar indigestion really blows.

Thanks. Now I can stop worrying about asteroids and supernovas.

A lot of those would make awesome desktop wallpapers if they were higher resolution.

I agree... but even harder to wrap you mind around is some of the stars out there that are INCREDIBLY huge compared to even our sun.

Awesome. Thanks for the link. One small object in the entire universe that we owe our very existence to.
