The stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me

Bidding is one thing, actually paying is another. All the bids over $60 are by new bidders.

Hmmm, but I do have 9 new-in-the-box rackmount Pentiums with 9" color monitor built in. Maybe I should put them out there!

I remember the first time I sold anything on Ebay. It was a k6-300 that I bought for $42 incl shipping. It turned out to be incompatible with the motherboard I had (DOH!!), so I auctioned it. Sold it for somewhere around $55, plus shipping!

For weeks after that, I continued to receive emails from people asking me if I had any more to sell. One guy offered to pay $60 plus shipping if I did. I directed him to pricewatch, where the same merchant I bought mine from was advertising it for $37 incl shipping.

I'd be willing to bet these are the same people that pay AT&T's $.35/min basic rate for long distance.

I tried selling my Canpous Spectra 2500 a year after I bought it. I got 30 bids, the highest one being $265 (I paid $200 for the card when it was brand new a year ago). Of course the bidder never paid up. And neither did the next 10 highest bidders, who I also contacted and offered to sell for a much discounted price.

The funniest part is the bid history. It's the same two guys, and it's the proxy doing the bidding.
