Is it the Ceramique stuff? I have a little extra AS5 lying around that I will use on the core but for the ram I know that I should use Ceramique to prevent frying the board. But I don't wanna have to order a tube for 5 bucks then pay another 5 for shipping and handling (BB and CompUSA don't have it) so...
 
I think Ceramique is probably better (has some ceramic content). The regular stuff that comes with NV5 silencer is just silicone.
 
No it won't. I used Arctic Alumina (AS's 'cheap' paste) on the core and the Arctic Cooling Silicone paste on the RAM when I installed my Silencer. Put a little more than you think you'd need on the core and a nice big dab on each RAM chip but not so much that it oozes out everywhere.
