I did notice the moon was pretty bright the other day. Guess that explains it.

I think Jupiter is visible too around the same area, we are closer to it than nusual, though now starting to go further.

I really need to figure out a proper telephoto lens setup though, every time I see that a planet is closer I always want to try to take a pic but it's kinda hopeless as it wobbles too much and there's no way to make fine adjustments. A standard tripod does not cut it, a single screw holding the whole thing together makes it too wobbly. Need something with a large clamp or something that holds the lens solidly and uses some kind of gear drive where I can make fine adjustments by turning knobs or something.
