The Strangest Disaster of the 20th Century

Lemme guess, the massive ball of C02 or something that rolled down the mountain crushing everything in its path and suffocating it?

EDIT: Sweet, yeah I remember reading about that in Reader's Digest or something similar years ago. Nice to know they're doing something about it - and that's pretty funny, too, venting the lake. Maybe they should fine it or make it pay for carbon credits? Where are the protesting environmentalists? Oh well.

A few times drinking soda Ive noticed that breathing through my nose the CO2 that is released results in a feeling like I could breathe. And thus now I always blow in the glass before drinking especially if its the first glass poured out of a new bottle.

the things nature can dish out :Q tragic, but a fascinating read. pretty creepy how accurate that legend about evil spirits is.

Wow.. That's an amazing read.

including a group of 17 people who died while walking to work when the came to a low point in the road
Whoa.

That is freakier than hell. I bet that was utter chaos and confusion. :Q You'd like to think that you could just.. turn around, and walk back out of the CO2 cloud.. but you would have no concept of that... It would be like breathing into a balloon. It's fine for a few breaths, but then you start getting light headed and your breaths become more frantic..

A few more seconds, and you would pass out.. game over. I guess it would be one of the better ways to go, just.. so bizarre.

Actually, the article was a terrible read.. way too many grammar mistakes and such, but still interesting.

Just read the whole thing... wow is all I can say, that's pretty crazy. Hell, I use yeast, sugar, and water to produce CO2 to increase the CO2 concentration in aquariums, never thought there would be a need to remove it 😛

Especially how the lake would turn dark red - if I was an uneducated countryfolk, or to be honest, just as I am now; I'd be freaked out after seeing something like this (since I'd have no idea why/how this happened) . . ..

that is astounding. nature is truly amazing. its sad though becuase the people had no idea what was happening...atleast with a volcano or an earthquake, they know something bad is coming and can try to reach safety.
