I don't see why the $156 a year wouldn't be tax deductible. Maybe its a little gray since you are getting something in return but I doubt the IRS would come down on you for that.
Soooo, Your taking a tax deduction for buying a day off, and your company is taking a tax deduction for giving it to you? HMMMMM, very interesting :whiste:

I state the truth. All you do is insult. Conservative never give money for diseases, for hunger, for the needy. They give money to the church.

Charities like the red cross get almost nothing from right wingers.

Ever notice too how much the right wingers insult people, who don't agree with them.
In my home town, San Diego, 2 Red Cross chapter presidents with salaries of $300.000++ and a big lifetime pension were ousted along with the entire chapter's board of directors due to corruption. Meanwhile, as a conservative, I donate to organizations like the Salvation Army. Setting aside that pesky God/church thing  which of coarse leaves lefties out, the Salvation Army does more to clothe, feed, shelter, educate, and find jobs for the needy here in America then the Red Cross ever has. Conservatives tend to put their money where their mouths are, and we do so in a well researched manner that does the most good. This is also why you don't hear much about the good things we do. It just doesn't mix well with the agenda. Also we don't have time to *occupy* anything other than our homes, and communities which we support. *I* am not going to insult you, but you sir, are sadly misinformed, and misled.
Now, have a nice day :)

Absolutely true story.

This year, our human resources department has started a brand new United Way campaign. This year they divided the company into teams based on department. If 90% of your team donates a measly $3/week to the United Week, your entire team gets 1 day paid vacation!

Well I got pretty excited and started discussing it with my department. It seems like most everybody is down except 2. The two that are adamently opposed are tea party type religious conservatives. Always railing against welfare, etc.... Well these two douche bags say that this incentive program is blackmail. I was like, you two are always railing against welfare and that charity should take care of these people and yet here you are screwing over the entire department because you refuse to give to charity. I have to wonder if these two are outliers or are symptomatic of the whole conservative movement...... selfish motherfuckers who don't give a shit about the poor and needy.

Anyhow, no paid vacation day for me and now we have two employees that are loathed by the entire department.

You see stinginess & meaness - I see people who are afraid - very afraid. So afraid that they can't properly think and allow logic to guide and steer them.

Obamas donated $1,500 to St. John’s Church, an Episcopalian church close to the White House.
Well, yeah, but with a nice handwritten note saying "For helping, not brainwashing".

I wouldn't pay. I could get 1 day off if I pay $156 OR I could show up to work and keep $156.

I net around that much a day at work, so I basically have to pay back my pay for 1 day to get a day off. It's like I didn't shop up at work and I didn't get paid, except that 1 day of non pay is spread over 52 weeks. Not worth it.

Yeah the ousted CEO, Dodie Rotherham gave money to a Republican PAC, what a shocker, she's a Republican.
I'm still waiting to hear all of the good things that Republicans do.

Good deal! But don't forget that your primary reason for giving was to help others and not yourself....right?

Yes it was. When something good happens to me because of something good that I did, why should I not be happy? Geez conservatives are just so mean and nasty.

Good...it is a good thing to be happy about giving. But your 'mean and nasty' comment does make me wonder about how your coworkers felt towards those who tried to pressure and bully them into giving. Your motives were less than pure...everyone sees this...and if pointing this out is 'mean and nasty'...then so be it.
