Well, after killing another hour reading up on Starforce I've come to the conclusion that the uninstaller does not completely uninstall using the provided uninstaller. Given that there is so much uncertainty surrounding this method of copy protection, I'm going to play it safe and return my unopened copy for a refund.
Tough break though, I've really been looking forward to this game and it will be the first splinter cell title i've missed. Sorry UBI, looks like we might be parting ways thanks to your poor choice of protection scheme....
Its the only game that has been out for over a month that you cannot find a crack for. Actually there is one crack but its such a PITA that it wouldnt be worth using. I think it makes it a good choice of copy protection.
On another note you keep stating that you had to uninstall deamon tools or whatever and I have stated already that it didnt affect my daemon tools at all.
I am willing to accept starforce because i see that PC gaming is dying. The population has always been small in comparison to consoles. It is often more expensive to develop for because of the variety, and piracy is so much easier for a PC user.
When you get ready to purchase your next gaming rig. Will it be a PC or an xbox360 / ps3. Personally I like the functionality, experience, adaptability, and accuracy that I get while playing games on my PC. However should they slow production of PC titles any more than they already are I dont know which mine will be.
Food for thought.
