The southern US border a goldmine?

Someone here, forgot who, in a thread, forgot which thread, suggested that you could get funding passed for Ukraine by selling pieces of border to Republicans. You know, trade border concessions for something else.
While not related to Ukraine in this instance is this the beginning of that mechanic here?

Seriously you could rope the entirety of everything you want with this thing, it is beautiful, you’re effectively turning the GQP propaganda machine on it self. A true work of art.

I had suggested that during budget showdown part1. The Biden admin was considering concessions on border security. I suggested playing into that, because in the big picture, that is a relatively small sacrifice to get a big win on a budget and Ukraine aid specifically.

They would instead claim that the aid money being sent to Ukraine in such a deal could be used to hire more construction workers to build the wall even quicker. The idea is that the border is so popular amongst their constituents that they dont really have a choice. GQP propaganda have hammered border security and the wall into their skulls that it’s meth infused red meat for the base. Point in case with OP, this is why they’re throwing it out into the public before actually tapping any R’s to make a deal. Toss meat in the water first. Good luck explaining to the zombies why you turned down border security mr gopper.
