The soundcard or the speakers?

Over the last couple of days, I have this unusual problem with getting sound out of my right satellite speaker (Cambridge Soundworks ACS 75 ? I think). Whether I'm playing MP3's, games, or whatever it doesn't matter. Sometimes the sound from the right speaker is nearly non-existent, while the L side is fine, and then the R speaker seems to "fade" up to normal volume. I've checked all connections and they seem to be fine. The soundcard is a Soundblaster Live! value model. Any ideas? 😕

sounds like youve got a bad speaker.... I would strongly dought that it would be something with your sound card. I woundnt think that you should have problems with a Cambridge but if you have a friend that will let you test out a set of there speakers on your computer then that will anwser your problem.

Here's a quick test you might be able to try to determine the culprit. Plug in the speakers to a sterosystem and see if it still happens. Just take the plug that's plugged into the soundcard jack and plug it into the headphone jack instead.

Hope that helps

***Late Update***
It turned out to be the sound card after all. I have since replaced the Live with an Audigy and I'm quite happy. Thanks to all for the help/suggestions.
