The Sound of Xilence

I'm quietening down my computer a bit more, and looking for a quieter PSU. At the moment I have a Hiper Type-M 630W. I'd consider a fanless model but they're all quite expensive.

While searching I came across this one. . . http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-g...sus-501-600/x-xp600-fl . A semi-fanless type, where the fan only comes on if the PSU gets too warm. This sounds ideal, although XILENCE aren't a brand I've heard enough of to trust, and if anything this particular model (600W) is overkill for what I have. The idea is a nice though, sounds like a best of both worlds solution, rather than totally fanless.

So, I was wondering, is this kind of feature common on PSU's now? It's hard to find out from browsing online, they all just describe themselves as "silent" or "whisper quiet".

My system is Athlon 64 X2 based (45W TDP), Radeon 4670, 5 hard drives (although 4 are just storage and almost always powered down), so I really don't need a huge PSU. Always nice to have a little growing room though.

Any quality psu, the fan only comes on when the psu gets to a certain temp. No need to buy a no-name psu. Just get an Antec or Corsair or the many other psu's that are recommended here. Look into something with a 120mm fan.
