So I started watching the Sopranos, and it's pretty good. Are the second - fourth seasons any good? I want to know the popular opinion before I go on and watch more...because so far, it's not worth watching ANOTHER season. There are not really any cute girls in there, and this crap with the "garbage business" is just driving me nuts.

If you didn't like the first season, you're not going to like the others.

I liked it a lot, and watched all the way through 3rd season so far. It sounds like the show just isn't your kind of show though. Move on to The Shield and stay a while there.

I'm re-watching them with HBO on Demand. Their season finales are pretty bad though. The shows leading up to them are usually better. Season 2 was pretty good since they put more effor into it after Season 1 was a hit...

Season one was pretty good.

Season two and three were great.

Season four had some issues with crappiness.

I rented the first 3 seasons on DVD and they only got better. In fact the 3rd season kicked ass!

Another good HBO Series is OZ!

I'm beginning to think you're one of those guys that doesn't like things just because they are popular. I get the feeling you think it makes you seem smarter or cooler.

We don't subscribe to HBO. However, we've watched the 1st, 2nd & 3rd seasons on video as soon as they were released. The series is great.

Haha. He can stick to watching his gardening shows on PBS while we enjoy some of the best television series ever made.

Let's see, I don't like Eminem, Sandler, or the Sopranos. Is that all you require to be in the cultural elite? And I KNOW I'm smarter than the average Sandler or Eminem fan.

I believe it's gone. Really liked it too, but I seem to be in the minority, none of my firends could stand it, something about gay prison sex & violence.

I didn't say you had to like those things to be in the cultural elite. I'm merely saying that I've noticed you like to put down popular shows and music just because it's popular.

If I put something down, it's because I think it sucks. I was VERY excited about the Sopranos when it came on, but I quit halfway through season 1. While I DO tend to think that the more popular something is with the general public the less likely it is to be good, I do enjoy lots of popular things like the Simpsons, Stephen King, and Intel processors.
