The sneeze

A friend was taking a close look at the back of my new PC when he sneezed, all over the rear connectors of the PC, the surge protector, everything. The PC was off at the time. I panicked, but resisted the urge to power on until I inspected the PC. It looked like everything was dry when I switched on. The computer is running, but is there anything that could have been wrecked by any droplets? (Nasty, I know).

Don't mean to sound paranoid, but this is a shiny new PC.

Did you smack him with your keyboard? You should have...or with your chair. That's just nasty...but probably didn't hurt anything.

Oh nose, snot on your PC. Hope he didn't blow any boogers into the PSU.

I had to click on this thread first thing this morning... I don't think I want my breakfast now. That's disgusting...

Sorry, didn't mean to gross anyone out. I'm glad to hear that I don't have to worry about water/moisture damage to my PC from this incident.

If it's running now, you should be fine. Maybe turn it off and take a bit of isopropyl alcohol to it if you're really paranoid.

As long as you wait for things to dry, powered-down electronics can actually survive water pretty often.

Physically the PC should be fine. Mentally you will be scarred for life after seeing gobs of disgusting mucus flying into your most prized possession!
