Can we all just finally admit that every device and program connected to the internet is insecure? It wasn't Snapchat that got hacked but a third party web app using their API.

I'm assuming these are more nude photos. I wouldn't touch that download with a ten foot pole, as there's no way of verifying the age of the subjects.

Misleading thread title. I thought that what we were going to find out was that snapchat actually was saving photos despite what they claimed. This isn't as incriminating. Everyone had to know how unsafe snapchat was as soon as they found out that a simple screenshot circumvented it though. I wonder why the app doesn't disable screenshots when it is displaying photos.

considering the largest number of snapchat users are in the 13-17 camp, I don't think these photos will be uploaded too many places, looks like it's already off TPB as the link was 404'd. There will be some private torrents for sure, but I don't think the major torrent sites will want to host it.

Snapchat had to change their claims of privacy a long time ago. Now it's just an app for "sharing moments" and they even mention the possibility of screenshots right in the description.

Anyone who regularly does torrenting is likely running off a VPN. But yeah, just dont bother downloading this time around, a large number of the photos will likely be dudes and their junk anyway. Not worth the risk.

My impression was that they WEREN'T deleted, just renamed. Whether Snapchat deletes them from their servers, like they pinky-swore that they would, is another question.
