Smiths fans might want to check out The Dears. Their initial incarnation was directly inspired by the smiths. Then they dismantled but the lead singer remained and formed a new band also called The Dears which still has some similarities to the Smiths but also has influences from other bands. The lead singer is stylistically similar to Morrissey. Good stuff.

Still tied, was tied at 15 when I voted.

The Cure should win this, they did a lot more good stuff then the Smith's

I love both bands though I haven't listened to them much in the past few years..

Would have to lean with The Smiths. Morrissey & Marr were amazing together.

They're both timeless in my books.

The Smiths look to have it, much to my delight. My friends must now stay forever silent about this matter :D

They're both good. I know more Cure songs than Smith songs so I'll vote for them. Starring at the Sea and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me are my two favorite albums by the Cure.

However, I cast my vote for Robert Smith and Co reluctantly. The entire decade of the 80's were the Cure's golden era. They peaked in the late 80's. I had a tough time following them in the 90's and beyond. Robert Smith just seemed to be struggling to come up with material. I mean, come on... "It's Friday I'm in Love" dude... are you serious? wtf happened to you man.

Woohoo!
I knew if Robert Smith could beat Mecha-Streisand, the Cure would be able to take out the Smiths.
