Supposedly, just about everything you hear (except drums) on most SP albums is Billy (ie all guitars, bass and vocals). Maybe it's not true...

Only one the later albums and those hardly hold a candle to their eariler stuff. I've seen them many many times, hung out with them a bunch of times (hell my friend roomed with them in Madison while recording Gish) and trust me they all played their instaments SUPERBLY.

Perhaps it's an adjective and refers to pumpkins that are made to be smashed .. or to extraordinarily successful or attractive pumpkins
