My mother-in-law asked me to recycle her old PC...so I obliged.

I figured I would surprise my son with his own PC, so he can play some Overwatch.

Isn't she a beauty?

Pretty sure these specs meet the minimum requirements for Overwatch...right?

My son looked at the tower with a WTF? look. Little did he know what was lurking inside...

3570K + 8GB DDR3 + HD 7970 GE + 240GB SSD - Perfect for Overwatch at 1080p.

Added a 120mm SP fan in the front and kept the rear 80mm fan in place.

Sadly the floppy drive was removed.

So many people back then never even took off the advertisement stickers off of the front. I know my in laws were the same way. Kept those spec stickers on for over 5 years. ;)

Nice. For a long time, I had a similar system. (Q6600 built into an eMachines case with a "Celeron" sticker.

Why let a good case go to waste? :D

those stickers made the PC's run faster like in cars with the HKS / KNN stickers on them.

Thats why people don't remove them....

Didnt you know the intel sticker alone made your PC overclock 100mhz higher!

...which is particularly impressive for locked-down OEM machines. ;) ;)

On the plus side, if thieves ever broke in they'd probably turn their nose up at what looks like a real klunker. :D

Tell me about it..my backup Ubuntu Linux PC is running a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T,16GB of DDR3,a Nvidia GTX 650..booting off of a 240GB SilliconPower SSD.

All powered by a PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 510W PSU.

It's hidden inside a old beat-up Raidmax mid-tower case.

That's funny. However, that front intake is really really restrictive, if I were you I'd dremel a proper hole for that intake fan.

Agreed. I ended removing the the parts and putting them in a proper case. It was fun to do it, but dear God it's ugly.
