Hahaha. Nobody got hurt. It was extremely windy out in Toronto today. Frivolous lawsuits don't fly up here.

No, but you see the equipment that was supposed to stop this from happening, didn't work properly.

Who would sue who and what damages could they claim? As a precautionary measure, the roof was being tested out to make sure that it was safe to do so later on in the evening for the contest. Obviously, the precautionary measure proved that the thing wasn't safe and the entire game was called off. There's nothing negligent about this behaviour that could be sued for under tort law here in Canada.
