you should because google makes money on the ability to serve ads. apple makes money on making hardware/software.

and I should care because....if I never have to hear another livingsocial ad on Pandora ever again have my location information PLEASE.

Apple is doing the exact same thing. Difference is that Apple already has your hardware identified right when you activate the phone. They already know your info so when they track you, they don't need to send your hardware info because they've had it since day one since they make the device. Google and Apple are both tracking us, we know this already, so I don't know why anyone is trying to defend either side.
