Dimension Films has dated “The Six Billion Dollar Man” starring Mark Wahlberg for Dec 22, 2017.
“Wild Tales” helmer Damián Szifron wrote the screenplay and is going to direct.
Production is set to start September 2016. Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Bob Weinstein are producing the film.
“The Six Million Dollar Man” is based on the classic television series from the 1970s and the novel “Cyborg” by Martin Caidin. The story follows military officer Steve Austin, who becomes part of a top secret government program after a horrific accident leaves him near death. With the help of cutting edge technology, Steve is brought back to life with extraordinary abilities, making him the world’s first truly bionic man.

IIRC, Austin's bionics were nuclear powered and with advances in miniaturization of tech, it wouldn't be far fetched to envision "nano" reactors IMO Gibsons.

Once you got the power figured out, the next hurdle is how to handle the waste heat. Unless you have a perfect superconducting transmission of all that power and the potential energy to energy conversion is 100% efficient, heat will kill.

I can see it now, 6 billion dollar man powered my micro nuclear reactor with huge "Archangle" style wings to vent the heat.

Properly because they let Lockheed, the F-22 and F-35 manufacturer, designed the $6 billions man. You have cost over-run, delays in software design, etc. So in the end, the government could only get one man, instead of a fleet of supermen, which of course make him even costlier.

lol 6 billion is a little overpriced. You could still get by with 6 million...I'm sure you could find the arm, legs and eye on Alibaba for under a $100K when bought in quantities of 10 or more. No warranty though.

Yes, that's what I recall as well, maybe a small nuclear reactor in each limb...? There are some serious reasons to be skeptical about something like that. But what the heck, maybe the movie will be okay anyway.

Whats funny is when you watch Venture Brothers and start to remember those old shows the way VB portrays them. So if someone ever brought up Steve Austin vs Bigfoot, I'd first remember that they were a couple.
