The Sims: Vacation Problems

Hey all, i just got the sims vacation, and i installed it, for the 2nd time and i am still getting no sound.

I have:
2x Athlon XP 1800+
Tyan Tiger MP
512 MB ram
SB Audigy
Geforce 3
Windows xp

what could be the problem... is anyone else having this problem?
 
I heard the sound is choppy with 128, but you seem to be well endowed in the RAM dept.

Have you tried the 4.45 MB patch from the website yet? (Gamespot may have it, too)
