The Sims Online Beta - I got the initation email today.. did anyone else?

I would never pay to be a beta tester. You're paying the company to do their work for them, and then you get the honor of buying the finished product that you helped work the bugs out of.

It would be pretty cool if you could just download it. I guess everyone would be doing it then, though.
You get to own property in The Sims Online and if you're a beta tester you get about a 2-week headstart on everyone else who isn't beta-testing.

I'd consider messing around with it but I probably wouldn't get around to buying it. :)

Actually, I don't think it's a super-huge deal that he mentioned it. If you preorder The Sims Online then you can get into the beta testing if you want. ;)

GoGamer.com seems to be down right now (probably those crazy prices on NOLF2 and BF1942!), but they have the same thing going on at GameStop and EBGames.


Edit -- Here's a link to EA's page about how you can get a chance to be invited, as well. So it doesn't look like it's any secret! ;)
