I emailed FOX yesterday telling them that the writers have no more ideas and that sundays show bashing the Army was in very poor taste on veterans weekend.

I know, when they starting talking about how much soldier's that have given their lives to defense of the country suck I though that was truly over the top. Or the part where they pissed on the graves of those in Arlington cemetery, just tasteless. The part where the dumbest recruits got into infantry surely a tip of the hat towards the idea that only the dumbest get into infantry.

I can't even imagine where they got the idea that standards are being lowered or that maybe recruiters are being underhanded to get more people to sign up.
CBS
Guardian
USA Today

Perhaps the portion where they poured alcohol into the resevoir just gives ideas to terrorist on getting our soldiers drunk! And I think we all know the proper time after any holiday to critize anyone remotely related to said holiday is three days and the Simpsons was clearly only two days after Veteran's Day.

In any case I though the episode was ok but not great, saw most of the jokes coming miles away (though the avacado was great). I didn't think the show was terribly offensive or in bad taste.
You need a nice cup of stfu.

anyone else feel like they've been cramming anti-republican jokes down viewers throats lately?

as if it wasn't bad enough for the show to be painfully un-funny, now they're injecting hack political humor into the show.

it's almost as if they're trying to be the reverse of south park... and failing horribly.

So whytf do you watch?

FUTUROMA FTW!

Perhaps it's because Republicans are racist, bigoted, and corrupt?

Yup, all of them

Seriously, did you even bother thinking before typing that drivel?

QFT.

I am not Republican, but I am not Democrat either.

I have friends that are adamantly one way or the other, and both of them have their points and counterpoints. It is funny though to see them so convinced that their political bent is the only correct political ideal, but otherwise, both have their points.

This is going to mak eme sound nasty but have you been paying attention to the Simsons for say, the past 10 years?

Its not new at all. If you could stomach it 10 years ago I dont know why it bothers you now.

And if you dont like it, dont watch it. They are NOT forcing anything down your throat. Turn off the TV for god sakes.

10 years ago the political jokes the Simpson's made were subtle jokes against both parties. Jokes that required some intelligence to understand.

Now it makes infantile jokes against only one party.

Not to mention someone in the writing staff is a Loony Tunes fan and feels the need to keep ripping off their style of physical humor lately.

It's rather sad, actually... how the mighty have fallen.

Heartily agreed, with the addition of the humor and their references to religion. They actually used to have intellectual jokes about religion. They also used to be somewhat respectful toward religions, challenging them rather than outright bashing them. Alas, this is no more.

I thought that too. Making the Army look like idiots on Veterans Day weekend is in very poor taste.

Well you know that Al Gore's daughers write for the show right?

Yeah, simpsons went downhill since 96-95. That's why I haven't watch them in the past 2 years.

a) 95 comes before 96
b) 2 years ago was 2004, which is 8 years after 96 (the last year you mentioned... )

I don't see how "both have their points" when one side (the Republicans) are fighting for the right to torture people, hold people incarcerated indefinitely, and unilaterally invade Iraq for WMD that never turned and for payback for 9/11 when the Iraqis clearly had nothing to do with it. If you don't mind telling me, explain how you can see those points. If you can't, put down the WoW and start paying attention.
