I actually came up with the list of reasons a while back, when I was still with her actually. I just never got around to putting it up on the site.

There's a map in one of the Treehouse of Horror episodes, and iirc they drop big location, etc., hints in other THoH episodes, but it doesn't really matter. My take on THoH episodes is like 'Alternate reality Simpsons'; nothing actually pertains to other Simpsons episodes.

I always thought it was weird how Springfield had everything imaginable. Its such a small town, yet they have their own 'Hollywood' (Troy McClure and that Ahnuld lookalike live there), they have a harbor, casinos, amusement parks, tourist traps, a Virgin megastore, all sorts of 'random' manufacturing, Springfield Gorge (which is the size of the Grand Canyon), deserts, mountains, rivers, lakes, oceans, beaches, etc. etc. Truly is an 'American' place to live.
