LOL, that's practically the definition of a neurotic phobia. If you can't tell from observation or your senses, but have to think about it, the problem is you. Hey, I have a few myself--the texture of seafood bugs me beyond all reason--but we both need to acknowledge that these are just personal (or cultural) hangups which have nothing to do with facts and reason.

Besides, it's not like showering rids you of 100% of dirt and bacteria, and in fact it would be bad if it did. Being too clean is just as unhealthy as being too dirty, but for different reasons.

Once or twice a day. I shower before I go to sleep (which happens to be in the morning), and usually again before I go to work so that I can shower with the wife.

Always one in the morning, sometimes another one in the evening after i've worked out at the gym or anything else strenuous and sweaty.

I hardly sweat except when running. But I have oily hair. But if I didn't, I probably wouldn't need to shower more than 3x a week

Once a day. Twice if I exercise heavily. Sometimes I'll miss a day, especially if I'm being lazy, or very busy.

Every morning.
My skin/hair feels nasty if I don't shower, so I have to or I can't function.

In the evenings as well if I've gone for a run or w/e and got sweaty.

You're so lucky to be living in an age with indoor plumbing.

Back in old old times, rich people bathed roughly once a year.

In the early days of America, bathing was though of as a health hazard.

Even go back just 50 years, draw a bath weekly, and one by one each person bathed in the same water as the previous person.

I'd say you have a mild case of bacteriophobia, or one of the other dozen fears of being unclean.

i think its totally kinda gross to only shower once every 2 days. she sometimes will even go 3 days without showering and on a rare occasion will skip 4 entire days without a shower!!!!

she claims the reason for not showering every day is because she isnt "dirty". She claims that she very rarely sweats and showering daily isnt necessary... and she (lamely) claims that she doesnt want to "dry out her skin" by showering every day.

DO YOU THINK THIS AND HER EXPLANATION IS ACCEPTABLE???

if she were a guy, do you think your opinion would be any different?

i dont care what she says, at the end of a day, having worked especially, youre not CLEAN... you may not be dirty in the sense you didnt roll around in shit, but you certainly are not clean. ill tell you one thing, i sure wouldnt want this person climbing into MY bed at the end of the day......

Maybe she's French? They smell.. you know..

Once in the morning during the week. If I'm just lounging around the house during the weekend I might skip a day.

I have been reformed, not allowed into bed unless I've showered. Hair gets washed every few days.

But you can go 2 days with no problem, dependent on activity level.

Once a day, twice if I leave the house and do anything (it can be pretty dusty or hot in the southwest.)

Daily during the week, usually every daily on the weekends too unless I'm feeling extremely lazy and have nothing at all to do.

The French used to shower once a month. They thought any more than that and they greatly increase their chances of becoming fatally sick. To cover up the stink they invented something called perfume.

Daily in the morning during the week. I may not shower on a weekend day a handful of times a year just cause I'm too lazy.

Every night prior to going to bed. On the weekends I might miss one or two. Any longer and I start to smell like old meat.

I shower every other day. Sometimes I slip and skip showering for 3 or even 4 days sometimes. I've taken a different perspective to showering though because a) showering too often really irritates my skin and b) I no longer work a manual labor job that makes me stink to high heaven (which forced me to shower everyday).

However, when I get back into the swing of working out everyday, then I'll be showering everyday.
