ok, so i have this friend....
she doesnt shower every night or every morning...
i think its totally kinda gross to only shower once every 2 days. she sometimes will even go 3 days without showering and on a rare occasion will skip 4 entire days without a shower!!!!

she claims the reason for not showering every day is because she isnt "dirty". She claims that she very rarely sweats and showering daily isnt necessary... and she (lamely) claims that she doesnt want to "dry out her skin" by showering every day.

DO YOU THINK THIS AND HER EXPLANATION IS ACCEPTABLE???

if she were a guy, do you think your opinion would be any different?

i dont care what she says, at the end of a day, having worked especially, youre not CLEAN... you may not be dirty in the sense you didnt roll around in shit, but you certainly are not clean. ill tell you one thing, i sure wouldnt want this person climbing into MY bed at the end of the day......

every morning without fail and sometimes in the evening too if I was particularly sweaty that day or it was hot.

Sometimes I just lump around on the weekends and don't bother showering.

I guess it depends on what you mean by clean. You're never "clean." Americans especially have this idea that clean means you must practically be sanitized. Most people shower not because they're not "clean", but simply because it makes them feel refreshed. People with especially oily hair and skin might have a greater cause for showering regularly though.

every day, sometimes twice. once for work, and then usually after i have worked out, played tennis, ran, sexxorz, or whatever.

I shower every day, but unless you exercise (unlikely in this country), you're really not that dirty. 2-3 days is OK in that case...I don't do it, but I don't care if others do.

Question: If she hadn't told you that she doesn't shower every day, would you have known?

Everyday. Although, there is always a Saturday every month or two that I don't do anything at all. Those Saturdays rarely come, thank goodness.

I ALWAYS used to shower before bed and in the morning - before bed because of the grime of the day and in the morning for a fresh start (and to get my hair under control... haven't had a comb for at least 5 years).

I've backed off a bit; now I'll skip the evening shower unless I worked out or got sweaty during the day.

After 1 day without a shower, body odor begins. After two days it gets horrible, and after three you simply get used to it and don't notice it.

Other people sure do though.

usually daily. . . .excessive showering (like more than once a day) can cause dry skin & other unforeseen medical problems ;-)

I don't shower every day and neither does my wife. Sounds like we're much like your "friend". Personally, I only shower when I stink. Did I work out? did I sweat? do I stink? If I dno't I don't feel the need to bathe. Bathing, when uncalled for, is wasteful, I'm a hippie after all.

I draw the line at dental care though. Brush twice a day or more, it's jsut a good idea.

Completely depends on the person. Some people don't have a stronger natural body odor, so they won't have to shower as much. Since I get a decent workout at work stacking 40+lb bags of shit (literally) everyday, I shower at least twice a day. I mostly shower in the morning because I have thick hair and it gets unmanageable and oily in the morning if I don't shower.

Girls, especially with all the perfumed stuff they put on, may really not have to shower as often as others to give the appearance that they're "clean."

Your friend is a freak and she most likely stinks. Tell her to rub baby oil on her body after a shower if she is so concerned.

Either way, she stinks regardless if she sweats or not.

Once a day, 1-3 times on weekends depending on how grungy I feel and what I've done.

I disagree. I can easily distinguish BO even on people who are heavily perfumed. In some ways it's worse than just smelling the BO alone. It's like when you go into a bathroom that someone put delicious smelling air fresher in and some guy is taking a dump in one of the stall. Plus if the girl wants anyone to dine at the Y, she better bathe.

Once a day, twice a day when I go to the gym.

I usually shower in the morning, and if I don't I feel really disgusting the rest of the day, despite having put on deoderant.
