I notice its rarely used by politicians, as they simply dont have the time to push out a solid Shotgun argument.
It is frequently used by pundits, as they have nothing BUT free time, given they dont actually do anything except talk.

Today it occurred to me that Whataboutism is actually an advanced form of Preponderance of Garbage, coupled with a healthy dose of ad hominem and misdirection. Sean Hannity loves to use it, Alex Jones is pretty bad too.
Are there any hardcore liberal pundits who like the Shotgun defense? I'm sure there must be, but I cant think of any famous liberal pundits right off the top of my head. (Anandtech members dont count).

I disagree, the spread arguments are used to counter any single point of reference that is demonstrably true and it's very rarely used outside of ignorants arguing about scientific evidence.

For example, a person will argue all sorts of points in one argument to ensure that his opponent has no available time to counter all of them and thus they can carry on proudly declaring that their version of burden of evidence was not met and usually proclaim that it was intentional.

I think the shotgun approach needs validity to work, you can use it as a way to provide a multitude of valid points but you have to realize that it leaves you very vulnerable since if ONE point doesn't stick then there is no reason to investigate further.

The people who buy what the likes of Alex Jones are selling are not of sound mind and since I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be that deranged I will not comment on their derangements other than that they clearly need to be in a psyche ward.
