Some guys at work and myself have been discussing making our own short videos for quite some time now, and finally got around to doing it over the weekend. I put the finishing touches on the editing tonight, and now that it's live on YouTube, I figured I'd share with the discriminating crowd of ATOT.

God help me for the judgements to come my way from you guys, but I wanted to actually hear some feedback. The whole episode was shot on the fly, with no real direction. We came into the process not having any kind of gameplan, but hope to piece together a bit more story with the second episode.

We tried our best to incorporate some funny moments, so I hope some of you actually like what we did. By the way, I'm Josh if you want to reference me in the video.

Some random stats on the video:
- 28 minutes of total video shot (not much, I know).
- Over 2 1/2 hours of time spent "on set".
- Approximately 4-6 hours of editing (I had to get reaquainted with Premier Pro). This includes making the intro and our "Mantown Productions" logo.
- Shot with a Panny MiniDV camcorder (GS300).
- Final video weighs in at 6 minutes, 55 seconds long.

******, I knew I had been in that building before. I nailed the secretary in the bathroom. Not the little bathroom but the big one.

not bad. I think the bleeps damaged my eardrums.

you thanked "The Office" on NBC, but what about the "The Office" on BBC?

Ya, once I got to editing, I realized we hadn't properly shot some closure to particular cuts. Atleast I think that's what you're aluding to. :)

Oh and the sound it all out of whack.
This is one of the things we learned on our first episode. One, we need to have the mic hooked up at all times, otherwise the ambiance of the sound is way too different between using onboard camcorder (when walking at the beginning) and having the mic hooked up (basically the rest of the clip). On some parts, we just didn't have a good place to put the mic, and with only 3 of us there trying to do the whoel thing, there was noboby to hold it on the boom we had. The buzzing sound midway through was another lesson learned.

Thanks for all the good feedback! I expected worse :). Maybe I'm my own worst critic.

I thought it was good, it would be better with another pass at the sound mix though. Tone down the beeps and see if you can enhance the dialog sound.
Nice Job.
Another thing to think about would be adding a second camera for cut-away shots and close ups. But that would require even more of a crew.

The sound issues are definitely something we're going to work on for the next episode. I think I'm done editing this episode, as there's just not much I can do to it, given my limited knowledge with sound editing. As for an extra camera, definitely a good idea, but the funds aren't there (and the crew, like you said).

When will the next one be coming out?
Most likely after the new year. We're going to hack out some sort of script to follow so we'll have some direction, but likely will make up a decent amount of it as we go along. We hope to have a couple of new characters make an appearance in the next episode as well.

I really liked it. Great job. And the beeps hurt my ears too and made my dogs go nuts. I can't wait for the next episode.

They are talking about the censor bleeps. They honestly didn't sound really that loud on my end, but more than one person has mentioned them, so I'll tone out any bleeps in any future episodes.

Thanks for the great feedback guys!
