I think the Shining would have been a better movie if at the ending, Jack first kills Wendy in the bathroom, then kills Dick Hollarann, then chases Danny in the maze, eventually losing the kid and dies after getting lost in the maze. It sucks that Wendy (who was annoying as fvck in that movie) lived and the great Jack Nicholson dies with only killing Dick.

Another thing... If Jack Nicholson were to tell me he had a nightmare of not only murdering me but chopping me up in little pieces, Id take that as a hint to get the hell out of there and take the boy with me...
 
Imagine how screwed up Danny would be if he had to stay in that hotel until the spring thaw. Having your dad chase you around with an axe is pretty bad, but spending months looking at your mom's hacked up body might just be a little too much for the kid. Wendy had to live so she could drive them out of there in that snow car thing.
