Both my husband and I have read alll the books and seen all the DVDs. I believe that this series was originally on British TV in the mid-nineties and came out on DVD around 2000. We really enjoyed both the books and the series. We liked the choice of Sean Bean for the character (plus I find him easy on the eyes :) ), and no matter what anyone thinks of the series, you just gotta love the French army headgear!

I was going to ask how you are getting it but that's probably a foolish question. ;) I will be looking forward to watching it when it airs in the US and, thanks to your advance notice, have already told the TiVo to catch it when it arrives.

:( Just realized BBC America is digital/satellite and I don't have either. Maybe someone else will show it. Ah, well, if Sharpe's Challenge ever comes on analog TV, the TiVo will pick it up or maybe it will come out on DVD soon.

The sharpe series on TV are awesome. The books are just as good, if not better. I just finished Sharpe's Battle, which is a GREAT book.
