I'm stuck. When they were running one system with Win XP sp3 and one system with Windows7 Ultimate, the shares were fine. After upgrading the XP machine to Win7 the share buttons are greyed.

Anyone have a registry hack?

If the networks are set up correctly, check to see if you have an incomplete Homegroup set up on the recently upgraded machine. You might try exiting any homegroup that exists on that machine to see if it makes a difference.

I didn't bother to establish a home group, because everything was previously shared before the upgrade.

XP Network setting are "primitive as compare to Win 7.

So... do not assume, just reconfigure all Network and sharing settings.

Folders Permission.

That's what did it! I had to go to each specific drive, right-click, select properties, and then the security tab.

Then I had to add a new user group for "Network" and set read/write folder permissions for all the drives. Major pain in the ass but it worked.

Thanks for the ideas!
