The SG1 Video Game

Looks very 'meh' compared to the era it's coming out in (later 2005).

I mean, really, by the time that's out, Doom3 and Half-Life 2 will both be over a year old! Far Cry TWO years old!

And it looks like pretty much a carbon copy of the 'Elite Force' games.

Sadly, it's a shooter, too (I will continue to bitch about this, as this would have been a great opportunity for an RPG a la 'Knights of the Old Republic' or - better - 'Morrowind'), so the gameplay will likely be similar to 'Elite Force'.

1 - Is it me or do they run really weird. In one of the scenes where the team is running together (~ 1min 13 secs), they look really unrealistic.
2 - The trailer made no sense. If its about an "ancient evil", why make the whole trailer about Anubis and the gou'ld and then show only 10 secs of the new evil?

I give it a meh (with a very heavy heart). An RPG would have made more sense.

and yes I think a RPG would have been better for this.... not sure if it would have worked though (I dont really see how you could have done a RPG within the stargate universe[ie you have to use gates to travel to most places], but you could have had some kind of sweetness "bonus" level which would be atlantis and you geto to go there too).

Thats why companies make big bucks, they come up with playable scenarios. If this is how the game is going to look when it goes gold, it will be a sad day for the SG franchise.

Not sure what you mean. Take a look at 'Knights of the Old Republic' - you are always flying between different worlds.

Just, in this game, you use a Stargate rather than a ship to do that. Big deal!

As if Stargate didn't take up enough of my time! 😱

I'll definitely pick this game up, you gotta love having SG-1's real voices in the game! 😀
