It's actually apart right now. Having some strange problem with the engine, which is really weird since it's a Honda and only has 40 hours on it. 😉 It defies logic, so I think its a lemon. Just my luck.
I should be able to have it fixed under warranty, and then I plan on selling it, I think...
They're fun, and it does get excellent MPG... The tank is 1/3rd of a gallon, and I can go about 25 miles on a tank. 😀 I've always planned to put a larger tank on it, or maybe a reserve tank or something.
It's top speed is exactly 40MPH @ 8,000RPM. 😀 Quite fast for a scooter. It's bizzare to fly down the bike paths along the highway and have the cars passing you seemingly slowly, or come up alongside a car on a 25MPH street and then pass them, that always gets the looks.. lol
I dunno. Maybe I'll end up keeping it. It has sentimental value, since if it wasn't for getting the scooter, I wouldn't have ever met my girlfriend, Crystal. 😉 But we've lost interest in them ever since Crystal's mom and her boyfriend got out of the business of selling them.
Plus the fact that it's the only 4-cycle Mosquito Hawk(brand/model) on the planet, as far as I know. 😉
Yeah, they're legal here in Oregon. They're basically considered a bicycle as far as laws go. You're supposed to keep them in the bike lanes. We are a very bike friendly city, so riding them around isn't really a problem.Originally posted by: Skoorb

BTW I got back my BS motored lawn mower tonight. He just cleaned the carb from what I can tell. I swear I dumped half a can into it, but now it works. I think maybe he ran it with the engine on spraying carb cleaner into it, which is something i'd not really thought of doing, but I can't think of anything else he could have done that I didn't.
Set me back $0 because it was $47 and i saw that they switched plugs. I put up a stink over the $3.50 plug and before I knew it I was rolling the mower to the car, having paid nothing!Originally posted by: Eli

Technically, my scooter is illegal, because the maximum size of the engine by law is 35cc. But obviously that's never enforced.
You're also supposed to stay 15MPH or below, but if you keep it reasonable, and are wearing a helmet, the coppers won't bother you. Most of the time you actually get a thumbs up! 🙂
Crystals mom's boyfriend had a scooter with a 13HP, 135cc go-kart engine on it. :Q It was a monster. He could cruise at highway speeds. He got in an accident on it(at slow speeds, ironically), and messed his leg up.. so he sold it.

As for your mower, how much did it set you back?
He probably put a carb kit in it. Shrug. Maybe there was a mis-seal between the tank and diapgram. Doesen't really make much sense. Sometimes the carburetors can be kinda finicky though.
