i have discoevered that the secret to saving money is simply: dont buy anything that you want!

i used to not be able to save a dime at all, id buy stuff i wanted, eat out, buy nice things, go on trips, etc. and could not save more than 5$ or 10$ a month

so then i started a trasnformation where i buy the cheapest foods, dont buy ANYTHING that i want period, dont go anywhere on vacation, dont do things i want to do, basically dont do or buy anything

and i can save basically a LOT of money now

its not nearly as fun but i think in the long run itll be worth it

Wow OP, you must be some kind of genius. So you're saying that if I spend less than I make, the rest will turn into this "savings" you speak of?

I know you are joking but I think that's what's difficult for those of us who have lives and interests. I think the best savers are people who really are not interested in many things. It's easy not to buy a tennis racket if you don't play tennis. Or not buy a watch if you don't wear one. The difficulty is if you are interested in things, play sports, have hobbies. Then you are suppressing your wants, to save.

Your online persona would be more interesting if you developed it a bit further. As it is, you play a role that's just a little too flat and dull to keep people enticed into engaging with it.

Hell, even the "I just farted" type of posts get more than eleven replies in 4.5 hours.

Actually you should just view everything as an investment. You can't become rich just by saving money.

wrm, we are all living to die. SPEND money on nice things every now and then......after all, you could be "entertaining" us with with a pome one moment, and a car could crash through your house and kill you.

I save a lot and buy most of the things I want. If it's expensive, I just sometimes wait a few months.

Things under $1000 I can buy without worrying at this rate, there just isn't much that costs over $300 I just really want usually.

thats the thing, im dead serious. i had hobbies but have stopped doing them because they costed money. 25$ to play a round of golf??? thats 25$ ill never see again. so ill just have to find new hobbies that dont cost money OR be bored. im thinking maybe of trying walking\jogging instead.

I wish I could find a decent place to play golf for $25. Maybe I would start playing again.
