I had to reformat twice after installing 4.129 via 4 in 1 in win2k, because it killed my atapi loader. Then i tried with 4.128 from VIA's own site and it killed the vagp loader at the start. So that last time i said screw VIA . I didnt load the VIA apg, inf, usb, ide, drivers at all. And i didnt install microsoft's supposed agp hotfix. All I installed was win2k sp1 and the radeon was running the new supported 3102 driver. The sblive was running the 3.0 liveware driver, but without liveware installed since i hate liveware. Everything else was on win2k's included drivers. And what do you know? I've got a radeon working, perfectly at 4x agp in counterstrike (only game i've played), a 2nd monitor card is working perfectly(permedia 2v pci) and an sb live and a network card. Every slot is full, and my computer is rock stable.

So the lesson learned here is...

JUST SAY NO to VIA patches!

Isn't that the way it goes though, my AIW and Via board with the Via patches and ACPI Hal and the MS hotfixes work great, never had a blue screen on this rig, not to say that it hasn't taken a fair amount of tweaking and input from all the fine folks here to make everything play nice. Glad to see you found the trick with your setup!

Gotta be the mobo and/or bios?

I recently did a fresh WIn2k install (just got it, love it.) with the 4.29's and I have had no problems either. I even upgraded from the 4.29beta to the final on my test drive. Everything worked so well I zapped Windows ME and loaded it onto my RAID array.

You must one of the unlucky ones we keep hearing about...
