The Secret Service visited me today....

Slew Foot

Lifer
George Bush was in town giving a talk today, and since we're the local trauam center, it's the SS job to scope out the area and lay down a battle plan for what to do in case the President needs to get rushed to the hospital. I happened to be on call in the OR today, and these four guys in suits came in and discussed with me what would happen in case the President needed to go to surgery(Apparently they do this everywhere he goes).

It was a largely benign visit, but I spent the day thinking how cool it would be to take care of the President if he happened to come in.

Where do you work at Slew?

I ask cuz my hospital did the same thing for the super bowl. Well not secret service, but you know

Actually, that might be one of the most stressful conditions you could ever be put under. I think it's one of the things that's cool as long as it never, ever happens.

You: Scalpel.

Anandtech.com forums have now been put on the Homeland Security Watch List....

Interesting would have been the word I would have used. Thought provoking perhaps as well.

Wouldn't they have their own doctors to work on him in your hospital? I mean after JFK and that whole fiasco. Anybody know?

I wouldn't say "cool" cuz if he came in that means he got shot or something. That isn't cool

Well, if you're thinking of "benign" ways to get to treat the president, think pretzel attack part deux.

Although, given the previous nefariousness of the baked treat in the past, Bush may be slightly wary of them, so you may have to contemplate donut holes or something.

I kinda doubt it. There are too many kinds of doctors needed for too many different kinds of situations. You can be sure that the best would be brought in if something went wrong, though.

True, but at least a general physician though right? I mean even sports teams have them.
