im predicting a second great depression, heres why. in the first one, 4 million out of 120 had money in the stock market, and were screwed when it crashed. they all believed that the stock market was a quick way to get money. today we invest in college and believe that it will get us good jobs, however, this is believed by ALL high school students, i dont think that there will be enough jobs available to support the growing population. secondly, we now know that "all men are created equal" today, this means that women and foriegners can hold high skill jobs. companies have already begun to realize that its cheaper to have skilled jobs done in other countries, this reduces pay here, and there are less jobs available. Also, there is a business cycle, the economy rises and falls, its been rising for a while, and i think the fall is comming soon. anyway, what do you think?

not even close....you need to learn a LOT more about economics...at worst, we are facing a slow decline. No great crash is on its way.

Eh, there are 10x as many good reasons the sky is falling, Bored, the only thing that keeps this place from falling farther than the Roman Empire is the 24 countries that we've got boots on the ground in, and happy pixy dust imagination

Now keep thinking happy thoughts!

Visit the P&N forum area. They'll tell you there that the Recession was clearly over in November 2001 and it started in October 2000 and was all Clinton's fault.

They'll also tell you that Bush ended the Recession in November 2001 with Magical Tax Cuts that have this Economy the best ever since at least 1984.

They'll also tell you there is tons of jobs available for the 3 million Americans out of work, that the joblessness situation is all in their collective lazy heads.

They'll also tell you that wages are the highest ever and not going down.

They'll also continously tell you that Outsourcing all American Jobs except for the coveted Manufacturing of Hamburgers to India and China is the best thing ever for the Country, that we didn't need any stinking High Tech jobs here.

There is magic over in there, they'll make sure your Tin Foil Hat is removed and replaced with the current Administration Happy Thoughts.

Ever since I was born Ive been hearing about depression after depression. None ever shows up. The closest thing we had to another one was the worst business cycle of the late 70s when Jimmy Carter's economy had the prime interest rate running @ 21% !! Compare that to todays 4%. We had oil crises, panic and fear, gold for $800-900 an ounce, extremely overvalued properties/land which caused the great bank failures of the mid to late 80s.

Oh yeah we are headed there again - NOT!!!

Seriously however, you conspricy pinheads, goldbugs, et. al., need to get a clue. Funny thing is 20 years from now I will tell you about how the past 19 years you guys were predicting another 'depression'.
