The Schick Quattro not as good as Gillette Mach3.

As far as the blade feeling smooth when you shave that feels nice, but it doesn't seem to shave as close as the Gillette Mach3. And the whole 4 blades thing is way overrated. 3 blades is good enough. The last blade cuts very little hair just as the first blade slows down my stroke. The Quattro makes very little use of the 4th blade. The only thing I like about this shaver is that it seems to glide down your face so easily, unlike the Mach3, but that's attributed to the 8 very fine wires running perpendicular to the face. This may also be the reason why it doesn't give you that close a shave however.

What are your experiences?

Update:

So I, being unhappy with the Quattro, decided to go out and buy a Mach3. Especially since I saw the Cool Blue version - it's so sexy. Anyway, I lathered and then shaved with the Quattro. Check this: I noticed most of the hair was being caught by the first bottom blade. Maybe about 30% of the time, the other 2 following ones were being used and the 4th was even less. So I shaved and then lathered again and got out my Mach3 and I was just amazed. First, the Mach3 is so light compared to that monster truck of a Quattro. Mach3 is very easy to maneuver. Second, I like to clear the blades after each stroke with hot water and I don't burn myself on the handle like on the Quattro. Since the hair was tiny at the moment, mostly lather was caught, but I did see some lengthier hairs caught by the blade in more than a few areas. Overall, my face looked smoother. Feels pretty fckin smooth too, almost like a baby's butt. What more could you desire.

In my opinion the Mach3 crushes the Quattro with ease. Is Schick the no.2 wet shaver supplier cause there is no competition, in 3rd because there is absolutely no reason to ever own a Quattro, or even any other blade other than the Mach3.

Once I used the Mach 3 I never even thought of using anything else. 4 blades is too much IMO. Next thing you know they're going to come out with keyboard sized razors with 234952342 blades.

I got this one for free from Hot Deals and thought it sucked big time, felt rough, Mach 3 Turbo is waaay better IMO.

I got the Quattro for free (some internet signup) but I don't like it nearly as much as my Mach3.

My biggest issue w/ 4 blades is that it cuts me more often. It's too much blade on my face at once, and if I angle it wrong it's not forgiving. Especially trying to shave under the nose but above the 'stach.

Mach3 all the way.

definitely agreed... I got a free Quattro when the F1 was in town here and it wasn't half as good as my mach 3.

Mach 3 is good if I need to have a close cut.
But they cost anywhere between 1 and 2 dollars each.

For value I use a Braun. Gets close enough and costs a lot less by the end of the year.

From my experience, the blades on the Quattro last longer and cut closer than the Mach3. It does feel a bit rough, but I don't have to go over twice on the same spot.

It probably depends on the texture of one's skin; four blades are better than three. :D

key for me with the quattro is you have to move the razor quite a bit faster over the face than you do with the mach3.

mach3 if i move that fast i cut myself. the quattro, i don't cut myself because of the wires.

i use the electric mach3 right now.

Dang. I would like to try the Quattro but there are no more freebies =(. I just bought a M3 power a few months back cuz my Mach3 Turbo ran out of blades anyways. I like the M3 Power A LOT more than the old Mach 3 Turbob, but I still use both (1 at home, 1 at school). My friends with Quattro tell me it's not as close of a shave as Mach 3.. so I guess I'll stick with mine unless I can get a free sample of the Quattro

I used a free quattro (and a free extreme 3) and thought very little of both. Back to the Mach3, no question.
