I already have one and the sticker on the back says it is an "S" version.
I am going to get another monitor and would prefer to get the same brand and model so it looks nice and I dont have to calibrate anything.

I accessed the secret menu and I got this "Version #": Me22w0baa - 1002
This place says that is an "A" version
This place says it is an "A" version.
This states that since my panel is an "S" version and gives the following graph

# xAx-xxxx : Samsung panel.
# xLx-xxxx : AU Optronics panel.
# xDx-xxxx : CMO panel.
# xIx-xxxx : CPT panel.

Mine is an xAx-xxxx and thus, a Samsung panel.

How do I make sure the next one I buy is a Samsung panel? I heard that if you have different monitors in a dual-monitor setup, it is bad for color. Can I make sure I get another "S" panel? I bought mine from Circuit City. (I *would* have bought it at Newegg, but I dont like buying fragile items like monitors from online stores)

You can't really make sure of it which is why the 226BW is a bad choice for dual monitor use. There are at least some color profiles around though. It still won't really be the same but it will at least be closer.

If you buy another one soon enough from the same place you might be lucky it's from the same lot/stock.

Is their a 22 then that is a good choice for a dual setup? Or if you buy 2 at the same time, are your odds much better of them matching?

The ViewSonic VX2255wmb, L226WTQ, and HP w2207 are all good choices (depending on design/bezel you prefer). If you buy two at the same time, probably, since they may be from the same lot.
