Manufacturer's Warranty: 3 years; not valid on products purchased for use in Canada

another good reason to live in the usa.

Not bad, not bad. I've got a 950p and i'm very happy with it. I'm just unhappy with my computer desk now since the 19" is certainly deeper than my old 17". Didn't take the depth into consideration. Just a thought to anyone considering moving on up to a 19".

can you explain how it didn't work? at which step did it not work?

Just a brief on Passport....you need to

1) sign up an account
2) after complet, go back to the main page and then sign in.
3) edit your information so that it contains your shipping and billing address, CC#...etc.
4) go to Mercata directly, not from Passport page.
5) add item to the cart
6) view your cart
7) click on "Passport Express Purchase" on the bottom left
8) you should be asked for Passport password
9) then it'll ask you for a Mercata account password

If you have been through these steps, thing should get right and show the total amount for this deal

Hope it helps

edit: for step 1 and 2, I mean Passport account.

Umm...if you weren't able to apply for the new member discount, don't you think that's why you couldn't get it for $240?

have you checked your account balance? see if you have $100 in there.

If thing gets right, you should see a break down like this:

Monitor $356.45
Mercata 20% off -$71.29
sub $285.16
s/h (ground to CA) +$31.74
sub $316.90
Passport %20 off -$63.38

Final price $253.52

Try to follow the step I described above as you need to enter password to sign in for two times.
the first is after you click "Passport Express Purchase"
the second is right after you finish the first...it asks for Mercata account password (it should show your email address), if you don't see your email address, then you need to sing in when you first enter their website to be recognized.

it sounds like a complicate thing....and I know, it does a bit.

You might want to consider the Compaq 19-Inch Presario 1600 x 1200 Monitor, model MV920 at mercata which you can get as low as $134 shipped after passport, mercata, ebates discounts and a $100 rebate. In certain areas shipping is as low as $6 which should get you down to $134. Shipping was only $13 for me. Comes with a set of speakers too. These passport deals are awesome!

Hey now, I have had the 955DF for 8 months. This monitor is ok for occasional viewing, but if you want to look at it all day it's not the right monitor for you as the flickering is very annoying. Note: I just upgraded to a 19 inch triniton which puts the Samsung to shame, however, it was almost twice the price.

While I can't comment on the 950P, I would only say you get what you pay for so. Again, for occasional use it is fine and a hot deal. For hard core use, look elsewhere.

for the 955DF, according to samsung, best res to use is 12x10... dunno why they didn't make it have a higher refresh at 16x12, but if you don't use 16x12 w/ a 19", the 955DF can work for ya.

Why couldn't they have the 755DF... can't fit no 19", and want flat screen :(

They have 900ift that is a higher model of 955df.
It runs 1600 x1200 @ 75Hz. (Max. is 1920 x 1440 @ 64Hz.)
I think Samsung intentionally limited 955df's high refresh rate in 1600 x 1200.
If 955df ran 1600 x 1200 @ 75Hz, people wouldn't buy 900ift model.

Not like 955df, 950p is an excellent monitor. You can find many comments about 950p in General Furum.

Sybren- From what I read in some other posts, Mercata was shipping most peoples orders the day after the Powerbuy ended. Hopefully that will be the case here as I REALLY want my new monitor! :)
