No different then a bidder thinking he has 100 dollars to spend but really only has 10.

No different from a bidder realizing the mistake and informing the seller HOURS BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDED as this seller did to the buyer. I suggest you read the original thread before jumping on this guy.

He's being fair to the ebay buyer, he's just being an attention whore here. Two unrelated issues.
