Well I was all set to backup her hdd with lost and found but some reason it doesnt load after using the zip drivers.

So I hooked it to mine, and her western digital Caviar 34300 doesnt auto detect as a secondary master on my computer but when I plug the cables back to my cdrw it detects it. All I did is take it off her primary master and put it on my secondary cable.. What am I doing wrong?

It is a 5 minute operation.. and its taken me a hour already.

Was it the master drive on her system? If so you have to set the drive to slave by the jumpers on the back of the drive.

Change her jumpers to be a slave and put it as a slave on your primary IDE. Thats the way I had to do the same thing a few months back.

Well that is fixed now, 4 hrs later... I got it all backed in.
Her western digital didnt auto detect as my secondary master (i unplugged my cdrw and plugged her in), so I had to retrive the clynder, heads, and sector info and manually put them in.

That has now been fixed, however I couldnt retrive one of her most important files. The hardest part is to tell her that she installed Win98 about 2-3 times, for I found the windoze directory repeating itself.. Man It sure hurts to go thru 2000+ directories..

Oh well I hope she will be happy after this.

By the way I am using her machine to post this message.

Well, Good Guy, I'll give you credit for going through all that. You must <gasp> love her, or you're just a helluva guy in general...
