the router or the cable internet?

Just bought the wireless router 54mbps D Link 524, this computer and another is plugged into it, we also have a laptop will wireless cardbus which has been working well in the room its in. Everything has been working perfectly since I got it 8 weeks ago, never any disconects or resets. A little over a week ago, I was starting to get dropped from the net every 20 minutes or so, the wired comps and wireless one. It reconnects within 30 seconds. I thought I fixed it when I left the cable modem and router unplugged for the night. Worked a little over a week with 0 disconnects, now this morning it started again. The same thing. Could it be the weather? In Arizona it has rained the most last night/today than it has the whole winter, no lighting though. Except the power in this area of the house stops working whenever it rains, but that was early this morning before the problem. Its drving me crazy, cause I dont know if its the router or my cable company (Mediacom). Also, I am not running any firewalls.

I have never updated the firmware ever, this is it what it came with...

Firmware Version: 1.05b14 , Tues, 20 July 2004
