Session 9 is about a guy who runs an asbestos removal business. He gets a contract to clean up an abandoned psych ward. You know, the type they used to have - crazy treatments, abuses, weird aparatii for "healing" people... The location itself is just scary, and the movie does a good job of getting that across. One of his coworkers finds some old recordings in the basement of a girl being treated. Each tape is labeled Session 1, Session 2, Session 3, etc. As the worker listens to the recordings in succession, they get weirder and weirder, and things start happening in the building...
It's very well done, and the location is definitely VERY creepy. The DVD extras talk a little bit about how the crew was freaked just to be filming there, and some things happened on the set. I wouldn't want to visit that place!
According to IMDB:
"Actor David Caruso reports in the official Production Notes that he saw "something pass my window" when shooting inside the Bonner Medical Building of Danvers State Hospital. "I didn't want to tell anybody, because people would start looking at me strangely..."
The Session tapes used in the movie were allegedly based on actual tapes found in the prison after its closing."
