Go ahead, look at my rig in my profile... Yes the X-Micron one. I know I know, its pretty stacked but any suggestions on an upgrade? I just like to switch things once and awhile for the hell of it. I was thinking about the video card, but whoa, I just spent 350 bucks on the one that is in there less than a year ago. Anyway, just asking....

Hmm, I would upgrade drives first, your hard drives are a little sluggish, maybe throw in a faster burner and a DVD drive.

The Western Digital HDDs I have in this system are pretty much an IBM drive. The only thing I see them lacking is the ATA100 spec. But do you think changing HDDs would make that big of a difference? The link below has the specs of the 2 WD HDDs I have in my system.

You could move your vid card to one of your other systems, and upgrade to a geforce3 on the one you are suggesting an upgrade for. As well you could add another stick of ram to your system, either a 256 or a 512 meg one. You could add another monitor, and a dvd rom. maybe upgrade the power supply if the one you have is less than 350 watt but that is probably not that necessary

Cool, I was thinking of the GeForce 3, but until it is fully utilized, is it really worth the price? I play Counter-Strike, and some racing games, thats about it. Operation FlashPoint is something I also might be interested in, here is another link for it... Official Operation FlashPoint 1985 Page

Unfortanately the Giga-Byte GA-7DX only has 2 DDR slots and I currently have 2 128MB sticks in it :( ARGH! But I have thought about replacing both with 256MB sticks. I do work with PhotoShop and other editing software, so I can always use more RAM. I have also thought about running Dual monitors in the system, which brings me to another point, dual 1.2GHz Thunderbirds on that new Tyan board? Hmmm? Now I really am thinking big!

I already do run a 350Watt power supply, the system also runs on 3 case fans.... loud but oh well.

Or do I just save the money and buy my 33" tires and new wheels for my 2000 Dodge Ram QuadCAB 4X4? I hate having to make up my mind on these sorta things.... because I know I really should buy a house... but a boat would be nice.... I need to win the lotto! LOL :)

Tyan Dual Athlon Board Thanks to our wonderful AT member NFS4, always on top of things, he posted this M/B link first I beleive, but she looks pretty sweet, Anand how about getting ahold of one of these bad boys and giving it a test run and lets us know what ya think?

I added the link for the Tyan Dual Board in my last post :)

Curious, does anybody beat NFS4 to anything? I think he is probably that fastest member on here to post new news. I have been a member since '99 and hes been there racking up the posts the entire time :) Way to go bud!

Oh by the way, Operation Flashpoint 1985. Installed the demo on my Big Rig, and wow, she runs damn good at 1024x768x32. maxed out all the options, and she still didn't skip a beat, also at 32 bit color, the detail is amazing. If you have tried this demo, the guys sitting in the truck with you before the drop point, the guy across from you, the one with the glasses... DAMN, you not only see the reflections in his glasses but you can see his eyes behind them, along with shadows from the glasses! Anyway, my 2 cents.
