The guy, whether muslim or any faith is not supposed to let it come in conflict with his job. He knew before he joined the academy what the position of special agent to the FBI entailed. Sounds to me like he either has something to hide, or an adgenda to pull.
Either way he should be shown the door for not doing his job.

i disagree with this... there are many instances in many jobs where someone's religious convictions has interfered with that person's job. while it's true that church and state should be kept separate, the state has an obligation to respect those convictions that the person may have. its the same idea with conciencious objection in times of war. if someone refuses to fight because of their religion, and provides plenty of evidence to support their position, then the government will usually work with them.
There are religions in which believers are not allowed to fight in a war. Because of this, I think Quakers are exempt from serving in our arm forces.
The problem I have had with some American muslims I've seen interviewed on TV is that they claim that if they are drafted they would not serve our country because they just cannot go to war against fellow muslims. And I'm thinking, "WTF? If it's against France then it's okay to join the army but if it's Afganistan, it isn't?" Also there are plenty of times when muslims have fought against each other (Iran vs Iraq). So, something doesn't add up.
But with Quakers, it is consistent. They are not allowed to fight against anybody -- period. And I can respect that.
different strokes for different folks, i guess.
