Nintendo has unleashed the design for it's new controller for the Revolution; 1Up has a story on it. Let me just say it's really out there, though it warrants trying it out at least once.

well that looks retarded. if I wanted physical activity I wouldn't be sitting on my couch playing a video game.

After just looking at it, my first impression is a mix of wtf and intrigue. Guess I'll read the article...

after reading it... it sounds like it has huge potential, it will really depend on the games. The metroid prime bit sounds really cool as well. And the fact that they're making it easy to have more controller add-ons can be either good or really bad, it depends...

So just like the DS, huge potential. Unfortunately it's taking MUCH too long for the DS to get many great games, which would be fatal for the Revolution. At least someone is trying to do new things, unlike Sony who seems to have taken a step backward with their controller, and microsoft has basically stuck with an old but good design.

I feel like I'm living in some alternate universe where duck hunt was more popular than mario bros.

Nintendo wasn't kidding about going a different direction. :Q:shocked:

I hope they know what they're doing and make some sweet games for it.

wow, it will be fun holding the remote in the air for hours...

ign described playing first person shooters on this controller. left joystick controls the strafing, right hand tilts the remote to control aiming.

i can't imagine doing that...

1Up noted the natural position they found was resting on their lap like a normal controller, so we'll see how it goes...

I've got the Gyration wireless keyboard and mouse for my HTPC setup. The mouse can be used normally or in the air like the Revolution controller. It takes some getting to but I can affirm that it is not ideal for FPS type games.
