The Repopulation - Sandbox multifaction mmo... that lets you build CITIES?

Okay, this has all been promised before... but judging by the pre-alpha trailer, this might actually be the first game to actually DO it.

The game is called "The Repopulation". Apparently 2nd generation clones off to repopulate the human race somewhere other than earth as a massive civil war leads to near extinction of the human race. About the only way we're going to go when it comes down to it.

The gameplay from the trailer doesn't look terribly compelling, looks mostly MMO like. But the fact that you can built cities and have to actually defend them as they get sieged by other players (3 player factions) seems to be a one up. The trailer also clearly shows that you build cities piece by piece.

I can't say I'm terribly excited about this title, hopefully it will mature well as it's developed. After all, it's a pre-alpha. But I know this sounds like something a lot of you might be interested in from past posts.

No, it seems more Age of Empires/RTS-like the way building works. Lego Universe had something similar, but the building aspect of that game had no bearing on gameplay at all.

It looks MMO like because it IS an MMO. It says so at the beginning of the trailer.

Could be interesting, but I think my days of PTP are done.

Updating this old old thread to let people know Alpha testing is underway for those who pledged. Apparently the download is really slow so better get on it if you want to make the events.

I'm still up in the air about this game, looks really fantastic idea..but could be a total blunder or a total win.
